SENATOR MELAYE FINALLY SUCCUMBS TO ARREST
Senator Dino Melaye finally surrenders self to Nigerian Police after 8 days of hide and sick in his Abuja residence.
It will be recalled that men of Nigerian Police have been laying siege on the Kogi born Senator.
It will be recalled that the Police had obtained warrant of arrest to arrest the Senator over irreconcilable issues that bothered on attempted suicide and a fracas that resulted to the wounding of one of the police officers.
Newstrack checks discovered that the fiery Senator was arrested at about 3 pm with some of other Senators on hand to give him a soft landing and to assure him of fair treatment and justiceable process.
Meanwhile, our checks has it that Melaye had filed various court orders, praying court to shield him from arrest, which were turned down, having established that due process was dully observed before the call for his arrest.
It will be recalled that Melaye has been having unending squabble with the police over issue that boardered on illegal possession of arm. Melaye had also at one time escaped arrest with the help of some hoodlums and at one time, too, jumped out of a moving police vehicle to evade arrest.
His house is currently being searched by police officers.
Melaye apparently slumped before the police officers and the waiting Senators, which its cause was suspected not to be unconnected with Asthma or any order medical conditions as inhaler was being used in trying to revive him.
