DAY OF RAGE AS NASS HOPEFUL LOSES HOUSE TO SUSPECTED POLITICAL OPPONENT

For the timely intervention of security agents and Prince Henry Okafor, yesterday would have witnessed blood-letting of unimaginable magnitude over the unexplainable demolition of Prince Okafor’s country home in Osemortor autonomous community, Oguta local government area of Imo state, by assailants who were allegedly acting on the directive of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s aide, Hon. Kingsley Uju.

The witness revealed that the group fraudulently accessed Okafor’s country home by claiming that they had come to implement a court order with a bailiff.

According to him, no sooner had the group, who came with a pay loader delivered by a low bed trailer vehicle than it dawned on the youths of Osemotor that the group after all was on illegal duty.

The enraged youths went after the perpetrators of the unfortunate act , which led to the free for all fights were all manner of dangerous weapons , including everything in sight were freely used. Both suffered various degrees of injuries.

Speaking to one of the indigenes of Osemortor, who simply introduced himself as Chukwudi , he said; “We were here and we saw a group of policemen numbering over 6 in number. They came with some other boys. They claimed they were here to carry out court judgment with a bailiff. When they began to pull down the house, one of the boys just said that what they were doing was bad and that politics was bad. That was what what made us understand that they were ‘fake’ people. We now mobilized and fought them. We caught of the officers and the thugs and took them to the police.” He also alleged that one of the assailants confessed it Okorocha’s aide that sent them and that it was an order from Governor Okorocha.

When News Tracker called Hon. Henry Okafor, he confirmed the incident, saying that it was a mere political persecution because he refused the son-in-law of Governor Okorocha., Uche Nwosu. He also alleged that because of his massive support as the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for House of Representatives to represent Ohaji-egbema-Oguta-Oru west Federal Constituency.

Hon. Okafor insisted that no amount of intimidation and threat will make him abandone his ambition to represent his people. He also said that he will go to any length to ensure that the perpetrators of the evil act are brought to book.

In response, Mr. Uju denied having any hand in the demolition of Okafor’s country home, claiming it have been the handiwork of another neighbouring community in Oguta that have been having many years land dispute with Osemotor.

According to a release he posted on his facebook, it reads: “The attention of the Action Alliance (AA) candidate for Federal House of Representatives, Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency, Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima has been drawn to a disturbing video on Social media of a house that was demolished in Osemotor, Oguta, belonging to Mr. Henry Okafor, one of the aspirants for Federal House of Representatives under All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).”

The release reading further: “The truth of the matter from reliable security information gathered is that, Mr. Henry Okafor has been having a running land dispute with the people of Oguta Ameshi which has lingered over 20 years in various courts even when Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima has never thought of joining politics.

Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima while condemning the demolition of the building in such a brazen manner stated, he has no hand in any land dispute between Mr. Henry Okafor and the people of Oguta Ameshi as alleged in the video by Henry Okafor. If Mr. Henry Okafor is having any communal issue with the people of Oguta, he should go settle it without dragging Hon. Uju Kingsley Chima into it.”

Meanwhile, the tractor and other operational vehicles used during the demolition of Okafor’s house were set ablaze by angry youths.
