FOREIGN TABLOID: NOU DEAL PSG reject Barcelona transfer bid for Neymar but are ‘open to loan deal with £200m obligation to buy’
BARCELONA have had a transfer bid for Neymar rejected by PSG, but have been told the Brazilian is available on loan.
The forward has been pursuing a move away from the French capital all summer with La Liga giants Barca and Real Madrid battling for the Samba star’s signature.
Nou Camp chiefs lodged a loan bid with the option to make the move permanent for £137million next summer, according to Marca.
However, it is understood PSG rejected the offer and insisted Neymar can be loaned out, but only with the obligation to buy the player for £200m next season.
The two clubs are still locked in negotiations and will continue to talk for the coming days.
Barca sold Neymar to PSG for a record £198m in 2017, but it is thought the forward is desperate to return to the Nou Camp.
But the Spanish champions reportedly plummeted to £800m debt this summer after signing Antoine Griezmann for £108m from Atletico Madrid and paying £65m to Ajax for Frenkie de Jong in January.
It means rivals Real Madrid will remain in the hunt for Neymar, despite refusing to hand over Raphael Varane and Vinicius Jr in part of a swap deal with PSG.
