Imo Guber Tribunal: Jublilations trail Ihedioha’s victory, as ISCA, Nwawuba, others hail verdict

It was wild jubilation in Imo state, when the Governorship Election Tribunal affirmed the victory of Rt.Hon. Emeka Ihedioha at the March, 2019 governorship election.

The President of Imo state Congress of America (ISCA), an advocacy group and an umbrella organisation of imo State citizens in the United States, Engr. Sam Ude, has congratulate Governor Ihedioha on his victory while hailing the Tribunal for upholding the mandate Imo people gave to Ihedioha.

he called on the people of Imo State to rally round Ihedioha and support him to succeed in the herculean task of rebuilding the state.

The President of ISCA urged other contestants to accept the judgment in good faith, saying that the state has suffered so much set back.

His statement: “on behalf of Imo state Congress of America (ISCA), we congratulate Governor Emeka Ihedioha on his resounding affirmation as the winner of Imo governorship election.

“We call on the good people of Imo State to rally round him and give the necessary support to succeed. We wish to also urge other contestants to take the verdict in good faith and to enable Ihedioha focus on the challenges of rebuilding the state and restoring the dignity of her people.

“While we harp on peace and unity of the state, we wish to state our preparedness to partner with the present government for the purposes of contributing our quota towards developing our state”.

Ihedioha’s victory has witnessed flood goodwill messages to Ihedioha across party lines, calling on other contestants to end the court tussles, describing it as distraction.

Hon. Henry Nwawuba, member of House representatives representing Mbaitoli-Ikeduru federal constituency has also hailed the verdicts of the Judiciary, describing as victory for democracy.

He called on other litigants to sheath their sword so as to move the state forward. Nwawuba’s remark was contained in a press release signed by his media aide, Austin Egejuru

Recall that the Tribunal had dismissed three petitions brought before it against the victory of Ihedioha on the basis that they lack merit owing to drought of sufficient evidence where were anchored on hearsay.

However, Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, senator Ifeanyi Ararume and Senator hope Uzodinma had challenged the victory of Ihedioha calling for cancellation the entire exercise.

Meanwhile, Nwosu has taken swipe at the Judges of the tribunal for doing a shoddy job and not paying attention to the real issue of contention.

Nwosu who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Onwuasonya Jones, said that he has instructed his lawyers to immediately file a notice of appeal at the Owerri division of the court of appeal.
