PDP members accuse party’s governor of being a tyrant
Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross Rivers state has been under attacks over the arrest and detention of a publisher, Agba Jalingo, who is based in the state.
Recall that Jalingo was charged over a report alleging diversion of N500 million by the Ayade-led government.
In a thread of tweets, some members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, accused the governor of running an autocratic government.
A tweeter user said: “His mindless suppression of free speech and callous harassment of journalists is uncalled for.
A tweeter user, Asiwaju Gbobaniyi, advised Ayade to respect the rule of law, adding that he should not lead the party into destruction.
