Confirmed: Kidnapped Appeal Court Judge, Justice Chioma  Regains Freedom

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Danmallam Mohammed has confirmed that the Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme of the Benin Division of the Court of Appeal has regained her freedom.

While the country has battling to curb the incessant security challenges, Justice Iheme’s kidnap came as one of the high profile cases that threw the country into state of despair.

Recall that Justice Iheme’s abduction took place after about a fortnight ago in Benin, the capital city of Edo State, where her vehicle was overtaken and stopped by daredevil gunmen who wasted no time in raining bullets on her vehicle, killing her orderly at the spot.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Edo Command, Danmallam, the judge was rescued from kidnappers and has been reunited with her family.

Her abduction had led to series of protests and public outcry.

Recall that the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, embarking on a three-day boycott of all courts last week. The same boycott was observed in Imo State members of Nigerian Bar Association for three days.
