Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressive Congress, APC has won the Kogi West supplementary election, defeating his closest rival Senator Dino Melaye of the PDP
As supplementary elections wound up in Kogi West Senatorial contest and Ajaokuta Federal House of Representatives poll, results has it that All Progressives Congress Party camp is already charged with noises of victory.
He reported that there had been earlier indication that the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Smart Adeyemi was in a clear lead, as he polled 88, 373 votes ahead of the incumbent Senator Dino Melaye, who in results is trailing the former with wide margins, having polled 62, 133 . The Returning Officer is professor Olayide Lawal, Dean of Faculty of Science, federal University, Oye, Ekiti.
In the Ajaokuta Federal Constituency rerun, the APC candidate, Idris Lawal also in unofficial results appears to be in clear lead ahead of the candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
