Duncan Mighty warned not to be a bad influence to youths

While the Nigerian Police, Imo State Command had released the “Port-Harcourt First Son” crooner after a bail condition following a reliable surety, a human right activist, Barr. Ikechukwu Nwaopara has advised Duncan Mighty desist from any activity that will influence the youths wrongly.

The fiery lawyer made the call while speaking on the decadence among the youths during youth programme in Owerri said that leaders, elders and celebrities should know that they are role models to the youths and that anything short of the acceptable norms, will send a wrong signal to the youths as some will take it as a way of life.

His words: “We all have roles to play in nurturing and grooming the younger ones. Apart the parents, they also look up to some of course to guide them. There are certain characters we exhibit, they take to be a norm.

” You can imagine somebody like Duncan Mighty who is highly reverted failing to honour agreement, what kind of signal is he sending to the youths. Some will see it as a fast way of making money. Such is very destructive to our country and it must stop.”

He therefore admonished celebrities to be good mentors and not destructive teachers as such will always have a devastating effect on the younger generation.

Recall that Duncan Mighty had admitted a breach on a contract sum of N11 million in a deal with M2 and others, a fund that was allegedly paid by the former governor of Imo State, Chief Ethelbert Okorocha.

According to the PPRO: “Duncan Mighty released on police bail to a reliable surety, to report back on a date next week” the PPRO again said.
