Angry mob sets Notorious robber ablaze in Benue

A notorious suspected robber has been ablaze by a mob in Kornya city, Benue state.

Kornya city is a town in Konshisha local government area in Benue north east senatorial zone.

A youth activist, Jiji Jack, told The Nation that police arrested the suspected robber who had been a torn in the flesh of Kornya city residents and detained him.

However, when youths in the community got wind of his arrest and detention they stormed the police station and forcedly took him away.

They reportedly set him ablaze, using petrol and tyres around his neck.

Those who spoke to The Nation over the incident said the victim was a notorious criminal, stating the only way to put an end to his reign of terror was to give him jungle justice.

Police spokesperson Kate Sewuese Anene told The Nation that he was yet to get the report.
