Court sacks Ifeanyi Ubah as Senator
A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja has sacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) over certificate forgery.
Senator Ubah was the lawmaker representing Anambra South district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The court declined to set aside its judgement on the nullification of the election of Ubah for allegedly using a forged National Examination Council (NECO) certificate to contest the senatorial election that held in the state on February 23, 2019.
The court, in a ruling by Justice Bello Kawu, re-affirmed the order it made on April 11, 2019, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return it issued to Ubah and issue a fresh one to Obinna Uzoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second in the poll.
Ubah had approached the court to set aside the judgement which he insisted occasioned a grave miscarriage of justice against him.
