Management is Science of wealth creation, sustainability – Hon. Nwosu

Contrary to the believe that management should be left to management students alone, the Management Consultant, Hon. Ambrose Chukwuka Nwosu has said that Management studies should be sine-qua-non for every leader either in private or public sector, describing it as science of wealth creation and sustainable economy.

Mr Nwosu made the statement, Saturday, shortly after the certification workshop and fellowship investiture ceremony of the Institute of Management Consultants, which held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

Nwosu, a financial expert who was also invested as the Fellow of the Institute insisted that Management is needed in every human endeavour because of its importance in individual and national wealth creation and sustainability.

“Management should be added to all courses of study in our tertiary institutions. It is almost a sine-qua-non for the success of every project in life, including our day to day living. In the area of science and technology, management is very useful for its guidance towards preservation of knowledge, advancement of it and it’s sustenance.

“Today, one can see that those who understand this are putting in everything into it. As we have come for certification workshop and investiture of the fellows of the Institute of Management Consultants, we have Engineers, Technologists,, Educationists and Professors of different disciplines all undergoing through various levels of Management tutelage.

“I am a Management student. I studied Banking and Finance in Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, had a PGD in Business Administration from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt. In pursuit of more knowledge in accounting, I enrolled at the Nigeria College of Accountancy after which I was inducted into the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). I had wealth of experience in accounting where I rose to the position of a Finance Manager before venturing into private practice as a consultant.”

Nwosu who is also a member of Institute of Public Accountants, Ireland (CPA) and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) among others.

Explaining further, he said that since management is all about wealth creation and sustainability, he said that he undertook to go through process of getting more equipped because it will definitely be an added value to him, his clients and society at large.

“What I enjoy most is the team work and openness to work together towards achieving a set goal. At the the workshop, we were all given task and in groups. We all resolved and mandated members of various groups to make presentation on our behalf. Honestly, we were all exposed to new techniques in management. We are better for it”, he said.
