Uzodinma inaugurates Task Force Committee On Market Debts Recovery

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has recently inaugurated a Taskforce Committee on the recovery of outstanding debts in all the markets in the state.

This was contain in a press release made availabe to newsmen by the Public Relation Officer of the Ministry, Mr. Ekweghiariri C.

According to the release, the Taskforce Committee members were Inaugurated by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry Barr. Kingsley Onunuju at the state Secretariat complex, along Portharcourt Road, Owerri, on Friday 3rd, April 2020.

During the Inauguration, the Commissioner charged them to focus on the present government’s 3-R mantra anchored on Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction. He noted that the governor had looked at the present economic meltdown worldwide, adding that he considered it expedient to harness all her sources of Internally Generated Revenue. The Ekwedashike of Ogwa in Mbaitoli local government area, therefore, urged them to see the urgent need to recover all outstanding debts owed the state.

Hon. Onunuju averred that he hub of the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) is anchored in the activities of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, pointing out that to boost the state Revenue and enable it to carry out her day-to-day activities, there is urgent need to recover all outstanding debts owed by all Government Markets, Stores, Shops, etc.

The Commissioner who doubles as the Chairman of the committee tasked the members to work very hard to achieve the objective of the task force just as he implored them to be firm and fair while applying the best International standards in carryout the duties.

In his speech, the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie expressed thanks for finding them worthy to champion the responsibility. Ezeanochie informed that the job is tasking but promised that they would put in their best to actualize the objective. He, therefore, pleaded for government’s support to enable them to function effectively. Mr. Stephen Iweh of the department of Commerce in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as Secretary.

Other members of the task force include Prince Kennedy Uzondu Osunwa (Esq), Hon. Emeka Aji (OCCIMA), Igboejesi Colin’s, Hon. Chief Orjinta J. C., Duruaku Godwin Uchenna, Hon. Okoro David.

Also on the taskforce include: Lady Joy Mbawuike, Hon. Mgbemere Udoka J., Hon. Emma Ugwoegbulam, Hon. Joy Ajoku, Hon. Nwosu R. Chimezie and Pastor Charles Achizuo.

Present also at the inauguration was the Director of Produce in the Ministry, Mr. Bernard Uwha, the Chairman Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA) Chief Odikanwa and other Director of the Ministry.
