Joe Agi Is APC Standard Bearer For Cross River North Senatorial Bye-Election, Polls 113, 635 Votes

Contrary to the report that the outgoing Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Akpagu, won the All Progressives Congress primary to contest the October 31 bye-election for the Northern Cross River State Senatorial seat, Joe Ago (SAN) is the actual winner as disclosed by the Chairman of the election panel, Alhaji Suleiman Nakowa.

Agi was declared winner after scoring 113,229 votes to defeat his closest rival Professor Zana Akpagu who scored 8, 635 votes.

The Chairman of the APC electoral committee for the cross River North Senatorial District Bye-Election 202, Alhaji Suleiman Nakowa in company of  the Secretary, Hon. Jenkins Gwede made the disclosure to the newsmen after submitting the result to the Director of Organisation of the party, Friday, September 4, 2020 in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Harry G. Odey scored 2708 votes followed Ochicha O. Anthony who scored 5,838 votes while Mr Fidelis Ebi Egoro scored 2,151 votes.

Alhaji Suleiman Nakowa said that Joe Agi having won the highest number of votes and having been declared the winner of the primary election will be the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Cross River North Senatorial bye-election.

The Senatorial seat had been made void after the passing of Senator Rose Oko. The bye-election is to fill the vacuum that has been created by the death of Mrs. Oko.
