Owerri Zone USA Drums Support for Governor Uzodimma, Calls For Zone’s Unity
The newly elected Chairman of Owerri Senatorial Congress of America, Hon Benson Mbaeke Ekeocha has called on the people of Owerri zone to lend their support to Governor Hope Uzodimma led government and work towards its success.
Ekeocha made the call on Thursday in a conference call with our correspondent, saying that since God makes Kings and Leaders, the people of Owerri zone should accord Uzodimma the necessary support for him to succeed.
The Owerri Congress Chairman further stressed on the need for the people of Owerri zone to unite and work harmoniously, observing that a divided house cannot stand for a united house will succeed.
He therefore called on the traditional rulers across the nine local government areas of the zone to take the lead in fostering unity, while calling on the political class to eschew self-serving interest to achieve a collective goal that will benefit all and sundry.
His words: “I am grateful to the good people of Owerri zone who found me worthy to steer the affairs of our people in the Americas. I must say that I shall never betray the confidence they repose in me.
“As it concerns our people at home, I urge them to be united and work harmoniously. There is no breaking of a people that work in unison and with unity of purpose.
“I will be gladder to see Ndi Eze (Traditional Rulers) in the nine local government areas of Owerri zone come together to chart a course for the zone.
“As the present government led by Senator Hope Uzodinma, I call on our people to accord him unfettered support. It is God that makes Kings and leaders. Today, he is the governor and we all knew what Imo was before he emerged through an unimaginable process.
“Imo was sitting on the edge and we all witnessed the political metamorphosis that led to emergence of two governors in less than seven months. So, let us support Governor Uzodimma and plan for the future.
“For us here in the United States, we are a disinterested party. Our wishes are to see a developed Imo State we all should be proud of. That has been the preachment of our Umbrella body, Imo State Congress of America (ISCA) currently led by Chief Engr. Sampson Udeh from Owerri Zone.” Unity is the key for Owerri zone.
Meanwhile, Hon Benson Mbaeke Ekeocha is a pioneer member of Owerri Senatorial Congress, former Provost of the organization and the current Vice President of ISCA representing Owerri Zone.
