Imo Assembly Speaker, Chiji Collins Removed , Emeziem In
The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Mr Chiji Collins, was removed from office this afternoon, November13, 2020 by over two-third of his colleague legislators.
The former speaker was impeached over alleged financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct, while Mr Paul Emeziem from Onuimo Local Government Area replaced him.
According to Channels TV, his removal witnessed an overwhelming support of 19 out of 27 members of Imo Assembly.
His impeachment did not come to most people as a surprised following the seeming frosty relationship between his god father Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and Governor Hope Uzodimma.
