Uzodimma, Madumere Rejoice With Anyaoku On 88 Birthday

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, Saturday, felicitated with the former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as he turned 88.

Governor Uzodimma described Anyaoku as a rare breed of Nigerian with an enviable national and international image.

He said Anyaoku has contributed immensely to the economic, social and political development of Nigeria, and that his contributions to the unity of the country cannot be under-estimated.

Governor Uzodimma recalls that Anyaoku’s career at the Commonwealth brought a lot of benefits not just to Nigeria and Africa but to the Commonwealth countries and the global community.

According to the statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, Governor Uzodimma said Nigeria is blessed to have the likes of Anyaoku around and healthy, and contributing their quota for the betterment of the country.

He prayed to God to continue to grant Anyaoku the grace of good health so that he will live long enough to reap the fruit of his labour.

In the same vein, the former Deputy Governor of Imo State has joined other good spirited Nigerians to celebrate with the Obosi born Diplomatists on his birthday, describing him as a patriotic Nigerian who represented the country very well even when the praetorian rulership held sway.

He further eulogised the former CommonWealth Secretary-General as a gentle man who has carried on with dignity and candour, praying God’s blessings of good health many more years even as he continues to give counsel to those that appreciate it from his fountain of knowledge and wisdom.
