Job Creation Catalyst For Economic Development, Says Business Mogul

Nigeria business mogul, Chika Emenike has called on entrepreneurs to create jobs by investing in productive industries, stressing that it will boost sustainable economic  development across the country.

Chief Emenike who is the Chairman of Rento hotels made the call, while addressing newsmen, shortly after the official grand opening of Rento hotels and suites, a five-star edifice in Owerri on Sunday. 

Emenike who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Kotec group of companies, a business conglomerate  disclosed his many other investments in other parts of the country. 

He said that his decision to build the hotel was borne out of a desire to contribute his quota to the development of Imo state  through job creation. 

He added that establishing Rento hotels in his home state of Imo had given him a sense of satisfaction as he was taking unemployed Nigerians away from the streets. 

He further challenged other Nigerians who have succeeded in different fields of endeavour to invest at home so as to grow the nation’s internally generated revenue and reduce unemployment. 

 ” Here in Rento hotels, we have more than 200 paid employees. If 200 Nigerians replicate what we have done here, you already know how many jobs will have been created. 

 ” Moreso, crime will be drastically reduced because there will be less idle minds to commit crime. In Fact the economic benefits of investing at home cannot be overemphasized”.

He however called on the government to regulate tax collection in the state as a way of checkmating multiple taxation and encouraging intending investors. 

Earlier in an opening address, chairman of the occasion and Managing Director, Ibeto group, Chief Cletus Ibeto urged Nigerians to embrace indigenous investments as a way of supporting local content. 

He commedend Chief Emenike for alleviating poverty through job creation and called on the government at all levels to come up with policies that will encourage local investments. 

 “There is no place like home. People get to know that you are a successful person when you invest at home. 

” I call on the government to come up with policies that will give well meaning Nigerians the necessary push to invest at home. Together, we shall conquer unemployment”, 

 The event was graced by dignitaries such as Hon. Arthur Egwim, a member of the Imo House of Assembly and Chief  Chukwunonso Okafor, his Anambra counterpart as well many business conglomerates.
