Imo Diaspora Leaders Congratulate WTO Boss, Hail Biden Buhari For Their Roles


A group under the aegis of Imo State Diaspora Leadership worldwide has hailed the emergence of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as she assumes office as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, describing her as capable.

The group expressed their goodwill in a statement signed by its President General, Engr. Sampson Udeh who is also the National President of Imo State Congress of America.

The President General of the group described the emergence of Dr. Okonjo-Iwuala as a good omen for Nigeria, Africa and the world.

The group however described the WTO Boss as capable and in good standing to take the world trading regulating organsisation with her wealth of experience as a chief executive in the World Bank.

“We the members of Imo Diaspora Leadership worldwide heartily felicitate with the new World Trade Organisation Director General. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

“We commend President Mohammadu Buhari, more especially the Biden administration and other world leaders for backing her for the job based on merit. 

” Biden administration few days into office made landmark achievements. Appointing four Nigerians and supporting Dr. Okonjo-Iweala as the Director General of WTO will continue to reverberate in the annal of world history.

“We are happy that she has assumed office, a pointer to the fact that our women can still achieve whatever they put their minds to.

“It is also an inspiring story for Nigeria and Africa. It should serve as an inspiration to our parents in Nigeria to ensure that qualitative education for the girl child remains very important for the growth and development of the society.

“As she begins another audacious journey to contribute her quota to the world growth and development, especially in the area of Trade, we wish her success and much greater feats
