Okorocha’s Action Over Government Seal, Shameful – Chief Adolph
Businessman and Orlu born political leader, Chief Adolph Anokwute popularly known as ‘Abamaragu’ has called on the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha to humble himself, describing his action on the removal of government seal as wholly shameful.
Chief Anokwute condemned Okorocha’s action while speaking to select newsmen at his Uzubi-Umuna country home in Orlu, Imo State, wandering what must have come over him.
Defending Governor Hope Uzodimma led government on the sealing of the property said to be owned by Okorocha’s wife, Nkechi Okorocha, he said that the governor was only implementing the recommendations of the judicial panel of enquiry set up under Emeka Ihedioha’s short-lived government.
He however took a swipe on Okorocha saying that he took laws into his hand and was very lucky that Imo State Government acted with understanding otherwise, he should have still been cooling off his feet in the police custody for alleged violence, illegal possession of arm and removal of government seal.
His words, “the underbelly of the lizard has been exposed. The Royal Palm Apartments in question was under seal because of the alleged illegality that trailed its expropriation and alleged use of looted funds from the coffers of the State Commonwealth to build it.
“Okorocha should without further delay hands off all the alleged illegally acquired individual and government property and also refund the funds that were allegedly fleeced from the public purse.
“The philanthropist however hailed Governor Uzodimma for his focus in providing very quality infrastructure across the state, especially his effort towards recoverying looted state resources.
He commended him for rehabilitation of IMSUTH and Owerri-Ebiri-Uzubi-Umuna Roads in Orlu local government area of the state, which he said became a death trap and flash point for criminals since their abandonment by the Okorocha’s administration for and undisclosed reason.
“He urged him never to betray the yearning of the people by ensuring he recovers every stolen penny found in possession of any person no matter how highly placed.”
It is very imperative that Okorocha understands the difference between government decision and that of the Governor.
“We can understand that under his rulership, he was Governor and the government. Little wonder he hardly had Executive Council meeting.
“Judicial Panel of Enquiry is a serious constituted body acceptable all over the world and their findings and recommendations are taken very seriously.
“He should stop attacking Uzodimma. The property was sealed by the Imo state government following the recommendation of the panel of inquiry.
“He should leave Governor Uzodimma alone and if he is remorseful, the right thing to do as a civilised person is to return those things he knows in his heart were inappropriately acquired and taken.”
“Imo people, from what is going on, will never forgive Uzodimma if he plays any role that will scuttle the move to recover their resources in whatever kind.”
