Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest In Delta

Gunmen on Monday evening abducted the parish priest, St. John’s Catholic Church Obinomba, Ukwuani LGA, Delta.

The cleric simply identified as Rev. Fr. Harrison, was kidnapped at about 8p.m. at a bad spot on Oria-Abraka, Ethiope East LGA.

The Nation learnt the cleric was returning from Warri in a Highlander Jeep when he was kidnapped.

The Nation gathered the kidnappers shot sporadically into the air to scare away passers-by at the scene.

It was learnt that the cleric’s car was abandoned after the victim was whisked away.

A member of the local vigilance group, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they (vigilance group) heard gun shots, but regretted they could not combat the hoodlums with inferior guns in their possession.

Delta Police image maker DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident.
