Ademiluyin Calls For Joint Protests To Demand Action Against Insecurity

A lagos based legal Practitioner, Ayo Ademiluyin has joined other concerned Nigerians to request for unified action to solve the puzzle of insecurity.

He made the call in a statement he personally signed condemning the recent kidnap of three teachers in Kaduna, abduction of two female undergraduates of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State among others.

He therefore called for a mass protest to demand from government a workable action plan to curb the incessant security challenges across the country.

His statement:

“I write to condemn in strong terms the kidnap of 3 teachers in Kaduna State , for what now seems to be an incessant affair in that part of the world and the abduction of 2 female undergraduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

“I am forced to say that is high time the Nigerian Union of Teachers take out Nationwide Protests and strikes to demand action from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led regime on the incessant banditry attacks and kidnapping of school pupils and teachers. At least, NUT should call a one-day Nationwide strike action and mass protests in this regard.

“The abduction of 2 female undergraduate students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State has brought a new twist to this kidnapping panorama in Nigeria . It has now been extended to University undergraduates.

“Students’ groups , National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS), Alliance of Nigerian Students against Neoliberal Attacks(ANSA) among others should organise mass actions to demand for the release of their colleagues.

“The Academic Staff Union of Universities as well as other education staff unions in the universities and tertiary institutions should take an activist approach to the welfare of their students by calling for decisive government action against banditry and kidnapping.
