Gbajabiamila Sets Up Standing Committee On Safety Regulations

In other to ensure full compliance with safety regulations and standards across the country, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday announced the setting up of a House Standing Committee on Safety Regulation and Standard.

The Speaker said the committee has become necessary in view of the recent death of a young boy at a recreation centre in Abuja which was brought to the attention of the House, adding that it was evident that obedience to safety rules has been breached in various parts of the country.

The Standing Committee has Hon. Ibrahim Hamza as Chairman.

Some members of the Committee are: Hon. Bukola Oyewo, Hon. Omolafe Adedayo, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Hon. Ben Igbakwa, Hon. Sam Dede, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, Hon. Ismaila Tijani, Hon. Bala Kokani, Hon. Henry Archibong, Hon. Haruna Dodo, Hon. Ibrahim Usman, Hon. Ibrahim Babangida, Hon. Shawulu Rewande, Hon. Sam Adejare, Hon. Osunsanya, Hon. Olatunbosun Olajide, Hon. Balogun Adebayo, among others.

However, the House at plenary passed eight bill for Third Reading, the highest bills to pass through third reading in a single day by the 9th Assembly.
