Arrest killers Of Onitsha Lawyer: Igboezue Group
Igboezue group International Association of Nigeria and the Diaspora (IIAND) has called on federal government and the Police to ensure the arrest and prosecution of killers of its National Legal Adviser, Chief Francis Onwuachi.
The deceased, an Onitsha based lawyer and President General of Omor Community in Ayamelum Local Government Area in Anambra state was reportedly kidnapped and killed, with his corpse displayed along Ezu River in Ayamelum Local Government area of the State.
Addressing newsmen on Friday in Onitsha, National President of the body, Chief Pius Okoye also urged the government to rejig its security apparatus to stem the tide of insecurity in the country.
The visibly angry leader said his group was yet to come to terms with Onwuachi’s death, saying Omor community and Anambra State at large had lost a man full of humility and intelligence.
He said, “Since I met Chief Onwuachi, I discovered that there are lawyers who could be humble, down to earth and ready to serve their people in any capacity. Igboezue is bitterly mourning, everybody that has come across him is mourning and lawyers in Onitsha are also mourning.
“Chief Onwuachi, a member of Igwe Omor cabinet died in a very despicable manner not deserving of his personality. He’s a man of peace, hence dying in the cold hand of kidnapper is pitiable and unacceptable. We in Igboezue are yet to come to terms with his death.”
