Uzodimma’s Aide Appealed For Calm Over Killings In Imo

Northerners living in Imo State have been urged to remain calm and not to take laws into their hands even in the hieght of highest provocation.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Imo State on Gender, Vulnerable Groups, Northern Affairs (Men), Hon. Sulaiman Ibrahim Sulaiman gave the advise in reaction to the recent killings of 4 Hausas at Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State by unknown gun men.

He appealed to his Northern brothers to remain themselves and continue to be there brothers keeper all the time.

While blaming the killings to be a politically motivated one by people who never wish the government and people of Imo State well, he expressed regret that the whole thing is getting out of hand.

He assured the Northern community the commitment of the government of Imo State aimed at putting the attack to a stop.

He revealed the resolved of government to put in place security personnel in and arround the entire area which would lead to the arrest and prosecution of those killers.

Narrating the incident to newsmen, an eye witness, Harisu Umaru Ishiaku said that the suspected killers, dressed in Military uniform, numbering more than 7 on their vehicles stormed the Afor Umuaka market arround 8.30 pm, acosted the victims in their place of business and shot them.

He said that the 4 killed which are in the age brancket of between 45ys, 33ys,37ys and 30ys respectively have lived in the area for many years without any trouble or attack from any member of the community.

While suspecting the people who carried the attack to be strangers of the land, pointed out that before now there has never been any problem between them and the Umuaka community.

Also speaking with journalists, the Personal Assistant to the SSA Northern Affairs, Labaran Kabiru Almade who also called on his brother Northerners to remain calm, called on government to quickly put in place security measures capable somethings if checking the occurances of the killings in the state.
