Madumere Congratulates Muslims On Eid-Al-Fitr, Urges Prayers For Peace

The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has congratulated the Muslims. as they celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan fasting.

Madumere whose statement was contained in a release by his Adviser on Media & Publicity described the Ramadan prayer rituals as one the holiest among the Muslim religious rituals.

Madumere also admonished them to live out the teachings of Prophet Mohammed by loving and tolerating one another.

He called on the Muslim faithful to use the period to reflect on the challenges that have befallen the country in the area of Security, agitations of various kinds, wanton killings and destruction of properties.

Former Deputy Governor insists that there cannot be progress where there is no peace, calling on them to use the celebration to exhort one another and work towards peaceful co-existence of Nigerians.

He also decried the devastating effect of Covid-19, commending them for their understanding, resolute stance to abide by the prescribed rules to defeat the pandemic.

“It is also very important that Muslims work hand in hand with their christian counterpart towards achieving Nigeria of collective dream by opening the channel of discourse on patriotism, tolerance, equality and love for one another”, the statement reads.
