NGO TO Presidency: On Southern Governors’ Ban On Open Grazing, Call For National Dialogue We Stand

Center For Culture and Grassroot Development (CCGD), a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has courageously tell Nigeria Presidency that they are in total support of the recent clarion calls made by the Governor’s of Southern region and their Senator’s in the national assembly on critical issues adopted to be addressed as strategic measures to advance the nation in line with global order.

The foremost NGO stated this in a one paged communique with the theme- Restructuring Nigeria, A Viable Option, they issued to media men at the end of their one day national delegate congress held in Owerri over the weekend and was endorsed by Messrs Obinna Ibe, National Coordinator, Kingsley Oguekwe, Secretary General, Uche Onwuka, Publicity Secretary and Lady Victory Ebenezer, National Woman Leader.

According to them, ” it will be recalled that in a recent development and for the first time in history, Governor’s of Southern Nigeria and Senators respectively convened meetings where most of the thorny issues in the country were painstakingly discussed and resolutions taken with the restructuring of Nigeria as a fundamental solution to her numerous problems and challenges”.

While the NGO commended the Southern Governor’s and Senator’s for coming together at this auspicious time, and demonstrated sincerity of leadership vision and patriotism, they pointed out that Nigeria’s greatest problems and challenges are absence of Justice and Equity, Islamic fundamentalists, Boko Haram, Hausa/Fulani killer herders men, secessionists, banditry, kidnappings, corruption, nepotism,lack of leaders of sincerity and courageous will power among other anti man made socioeconomic vices.

CCGD further insisted that ” there’s now an absolute necessity to rejig the structure of Nigeria through restructuring. This is the only viable option to achieve Stability, Justice, Equity, Fairness and Unity of purpose. This will also instigate national development, trust and confidence among the populace” they assured.

They equally aligned themselves completely and totally to the recent historical resolutions of the Asaba convention just as they throw their weight in support of the Southern Governor’s and Senator’s in demanding from the Federal Government as a matter of urgency and exigency to take the necessary steps to initiate the process of restructuring while passionately advising the Northern Governor’s and Leaders to take a cue from the resolutions as the necessary
antidotes in moving the country forward.
