EBONYI: UDEZE Led Action Alliance (AA) Faction Calls For Immediate Release Of Its Chairman
Barr. Chief Kenneth Udeze led Executive Committee Council of a faction of Action Alliance has called for immediate release of Hon. Godwin Ukwu, the State Chairman of the party being held by Ebonyi State Command of Nigeria Police.
The Call was contained in a press release issued by the National Publicity of Action Alliance, Rev. Denis Ubani.
The statement reads:
“The Action Alliance AA National headquarters Abuja recieved with shock the illegal arrest of our party’s state Chairman in Ebonyi state Hon.Godwin Ukwu today by the Ebonyi state command of the Nigeria police force.
“We demand the unconditional release of our State Chairman Hon. Godwin Ukwu by the police.
“We also want the public to know that the Action Alliance Ebonyi state chapter chairman is Hon. Godwin Ukwu.
“We urge the Acting Inspector General of police (IGP) to call the Ebonyi state Commissioner of police to order for interfering in internal affairs of our Party Action Alliance AA in Ebonyi state.”
Meanwhile, the report has it that the factional state Chairman of AA, Godwin Ukwu was arrested on Monday for alleged impersonation.
“Ukwu was alleged to have opened a factional secretariat of the party in Abakaliki, the state capital and also lead a faction of the party in the state.
“It was gathered that the suspect was arrested after a tip-off and he had already written a statement at the headquarters of the state police command in Abakaliki.”
The national Publicity Secretary of Action Alliance, Rev. Dennis Ubani has insisted that the only recognized faction of AA by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is under the leadership of Barr. Barr. Kenneth Udeze.
