Imo: Local Government Chair Salutes Nigerians On Democracy Day


The Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Hon Larry Chikwe has sent heartfelt felicitations to all Nigerians and the good people of Ahiazu Mbaise in particular as on the auspicious occasion of this year’s Democracy Day Celebration.

Hon. Chikwe’s goodwill message was contained in a press release signed his Media aide, Koke Nwoko.


The Chairman identified democracy as a catalyst for national integration and thanked Nigerians for their efforts towards the sustenance of democracy since 1999. The Chairman also appreciated the gains of Nigeria’s democracy which have impacted positively in the lives of the people.

He extolled the heroes of Nigeria’s democracy who made enormous sacrifices to ensure the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria. He thanked the Federal Government for setting aside a particular day to celebrate our democracy and its heroes. He said that the labours of these heroes will never be in vain.

The Chairman also felicitated the indefatigable governor of Imo state, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for the numerous projects that are springing up in the state. The Chairman identified the governor as a human developer who has empowered many youths and prayed God to continue to strengthen him as he paint Imo state with democracy dividends.


To the teeming and energetic youths, the Chairman appealled to them to be patient with government as plans to make lives better for them have reached a crescendo in the state. The Chairman urged them to support the government in its efforts to end insecurity and foster development. He also counselled them to always maintain peace in their various communities in other to attract democracy dividends.


Evaluating Nigeria’s democratic experience, the Chairman said that although we are yet to reach the promised land but we have left Egypt which is a signal that we must definitely reach the land of our dreams. The Chairman said that Nigeria cannot reach the promised land with the various challeges facing her today. He therefore called on people to pray for Nigeria to enable her reach the promised land soon for the betterment of all. He finally wished all Nigerians a happy democracy day.
