Madumere Hails Minister Of Transportation, Amaechi On Vanguard Public Sector Award
Imo ex – Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has joined other well meaning Nigerians to felicitate with the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi on his well deserving Vanguard Public Sector Icon of the Year Award.
Prince Madumere commended the awarding firm, the Vanguard Newspaper for setting up a crack team that did a good job.
The former Deputy Governor described Amaechi as a dogged, focused and result oriented administrator who has given account of himself.
“I must say that the award given to Rt. Honourable Chibuike Amaechi is well deserving.
“He has been consisted in his chosen path of honour. As the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly and leader of the Speakers across the country, what he did can best be described as a man who is determined to succeed and contribute to the progress of the society.
“As Governor, we also saw him fight his way up and stood against injustices. He left an indelible mark before leaving office as a Governor, with solid infrastructures, human capacity building and security of lives and property.
“When nobody gave the then newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC) a chance, Rt. Hon Amaechi gave his heart, charged everyone up and went to work. Of course, he was President Buhari’s Chairman of Campaign Council.
“I worked closely with him during the campaign in the Southeast, I came to appreciate his personality. He was full of optimism and remained focused and never made so much noise about his inputs. He is a man of integrity because when he believes in you, he stands by you; it does not matter whether the weather is stormy.
“Today, as the Minister of Transportation, we have seen high sense of responsibility at the highest level. He has worked closely with the President to ensure that the set goal of revamping railways in Nigeria is achieved.
“We have all seen the difference. So for the award as the Public Sector Icon is only saying the obvious; encouraging to remain focused and that Nigerians appreciate”, Madumere stated.
