Ife Varsity Alumni Association Celebrates Emeghara, One Of Its “Greatest,” On His Birthday
The ever vibrant Imo State Chapter of Obafemi Awolowo University former Ife University last Sunday in Owerri celebrated one her celebrity members, Chief Chukwugozie Emeghara on his birthday.
Tributes flowed freely in an emotionally laden ceremony, where Sir Jude T.U. Nnodum (Senior Advocate of Nigeria) showered encomium on the Chief Emeghara, the celebrant.
The Senior Advocate Nigeria described Emeghara as a good example of resilience, Indomitable spirit and the capacity of what a human mind can do considering his challenges, especially for such a special man who lives with disability.
His words: “Commander is a statement in perseverance. We all know what it means to go from one place to another. We all know how the topography of Ife University is like. Commander (Emeghara) persevered.
“In all these, he is always cheerful and loud. We appreciate the height he has attained.
“We thank God for his life . We are also happy that he is in good health and we are always happy to have him around.”, Sir Nnodum (SAN) stated.
The members of the association rose in honour of this great man with Great Ife Anthem followed by other renditions as a “Jolly Good Fellow”.
The Chairman of Imo Chapter of the Association, Hon. Charles Okeke Odiuko who also showered praises on the celebrant.
The Birthday celebrant despite his physical challenges, he has shown that whatever human mind can conceived is attainable.
Emeghara chose to go through the rigour of studying in Great Ife University to gain knowledge and imbibe the true culture of dynamism and can-do spirit of the the founding fathers of the present Obafemi Awolowo University.
He is a lecturer of note in Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
He had every reason to give up. He had natural excuses that could have been understood by every a man but he said know.
Today, he has a wonderful family even as God has blessed him with beautiful children who are climbing great ladders of success.
Emeghara is a dinstinguished senior citizen who attends virtually all the meetings of Great Ife Alumni Association in so far as he is available.
Guess what? He plays more than everyone, crack the best jokes, putting smiles on the faces of those who should pity him.
A million and one lessons abound in the beautiful life of Chief Emeghara, the Commander with a true Ife spirit.
