Topic: The Bigger Hand

So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you. I will support you with my right hand that saves you” (Isaiah 41:10, ICB).

A little boy and his father went into a supermarket to get things needed at home. After selecting all the supplies they needed, Father approached the shopkeeper to pay for the items. As they were leaving, the owner of the store offered the little boy some sweets. “Get a handful of sweets,” the shopkeeper said to the boy. The boy just stood there looking up at his father. The owner repeated it: “Son, get a handful of sweets. It’s free.” Again, the boy did not move, continuing to look up at his father.
Finally, the father reached into the candy jar, got a handful of sweets, and gave them to his son. As they walked back home, the father stopped and asked his son why he did not grab a handful of the free sweets. With a big smile, the boy looked into his father’s face and said: “Because I know that your hand is bigger than mine.”

Yes, our Father’s hand is bigger than ours! So, whatever your needs are, whatever your problems may be, just place them into the hand of our heavenly Father, because His hand is bigger than ours. When you feel sad or discouraged, God is there to comfort you and give you hope. When you feel anxious or worried about uncertainties, place your anxiety into God’s hand. When your good friend is moving away and you know that you might not ever see each other again, just place your concerns into our heavenly Father’s hand. He will help you make other new friends.

God loves us very much, and He is concerned with us. He is interested in every little thing that we have to face in our life. He laughs with us, and He also cries with us. When troubles come and things get rough, put your hand into our Father’s hand, for His hand is bigger than ours! He will lead you on.

Song
What have I to dread, what have I to fear
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, leaning
Safe and secure from all alarms
Leaning, leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms

Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for being ever present. I put in your hands my hopes, anxieties, fears and challenges today. Please take care of them and give me the blessings therein. Amen.
