Young Graduate Allegedly Electrocuted In Imo



A young graduate identified as Chinonso Emmanuel, has allegedly been electrocuted in an Owerri hotel, two weeks after he was employed in the hotel.

Late Chinonso it was gathered resumed work at the hotel located along Owerri – Aba Expressway, just immediately after the popular Federal Polytechnic Nekede/ Naze Number One Bus Stop on July 1st, 2021.

Barely two weeks after he was allegedly electrocuted while on night shift of Sunday/Monday of July 18 – 19 2021.

Sources told the our correspondent that the management of the hotel which was opened barely two months ago,claimed that the deceased was allegedly electrocuted by iron rails.

But, that claim has raised eyebrows as sources told our correspondent that people are finding it difficult to comprehend how railings which apart from adding aesthetic value to buildings, also serve as support for people climbing upstairs, could electrocute the deceased in a brand new hotel.

Another action of the hotel management that heightened suspicion among the public it was gathered, was the speed with which it rushed the boy’s corpse to the morgue before the arrival of security agencies to the scene.

However, when security operatives arrived the hotel hours later they cordoned off the hotel premises for most of Monday July 19, 2021, as they commenced preliminary investigation into the ugly incident.

When reached for confirmation Imo Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Mike Abattam confirmed the incident, adding that investigation has commenced with a view to unraveling the cause of the death of late Chinonso.

Efforts to speak to manager of the hotel was not successful as he refused to pick calls and respond to text message sent to his mobile number.
