Hushy $1.1M Fraud: Why We Couldn’t Arrest Abba Kyari For The FBI After They Contacted Us Over $1.1m – EFCC
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have DCP Abba Kyari arrested for his ties to serial online fraudster Ramon Abbas nicknamed Hushpuppi.
According to a top source in the EFCC who talked with SaharaReporters, the agency is unable to make an arrest since Kyari is a police officer, and therefore the case is beyond the EFCC’s jurisdiction.
“FBI has contacted EFCC, asking that we arrest Abba Kyari but we told them that it is a police matter” the source in the EFCC said.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police has requested an internal investigation into all of Hushpuppi’s charges against Kyari.
The accused internet fraudster who was apprehended in Dubai in June 2020 allegedly informed the FBI that he paid a bribe to Kyari in order for a member of his online fraud gang, Chibuzo Vincent, to be apprehended and imprisoned. Kyari, on the other hand, has disputed the accusation.
