Topic: The largeness of God’s supply

So be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:6-7

Remember the story of the poor widow who had nothing to offer but a little oil? Who when she went to Elisha for help and was asked by him “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” and her answer was “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.? In the hands of God, the oil was enough. God brought the increase as the oil continued to flow, until all the jars were full.
There was enough oil in the borrowed vessels to settle her debts, meet her desires and supply her dependents! God’s supply was far more than sufficient! That is the kind of ability our Father possesses. He is able to do more than we can imagine, if we give Him the opportunity!
A construction crew was building a new road through a village knocking down trees as they progressed. The site engineer noticed that one tree had a nest of birds who couldn’t yet fly and he marked the tree so that it would not be cut down. Several weeks later, the engineer came back to the tree. He got into a bucket truck and was lifted up so that he could look into the nest. To his surprise, he discovered that the fledglings were gone. They had obviously learned to fly. So he ordered the tree to be cut down. As the tree crashed to the ground, the nest fell clear and some of the material that the birds had gathered to make the nest was scattered about. Part of it was a scrap of paper from a Sabbath school pamphlet. On the scrap of paper were these words: “He careth for You!”
God cares for you! Just bring your vessels (everything that bothers you) to Him and He will amaze you with what He can do with your situation. My challenge for you today is to trust God to bring the increase and multiply what you have committed to Him – because He will.

Song
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song
As the burdens press and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long

Oh, yes
He cares
I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares

Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong
When for my deep grief I find no relief
Though my tears flow all the night long

Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for being there – my helper- at all times. This world promises all sorts of hardships. But today I have learnt that if you will humble myself and seek You, You will meet your needs. Help me only to trust and obey you
