BOXING MATCH WARNING: I Will Force Tommy Fury To Retire From Boxing, Change His Last Name If He Loses To Jake Paul In Boxing Ring – Tyson Fury
Tommy Fury will have to retire from boxing and change his famous surname if he fails to beat Jake Paul.
That’s according to big brother Tyson, who was asked about a meeting between the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who is now 4-0 as a pro, and Tommy.
“I think the fight needs to happen – Tommy and Jake will get the fight done,” Tyson told Boxing Social.
“If Tommy can’t splatter Jake Paul, I’ll retire him from boxing myself. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, forget about boxing.
“Because he’s got ambitions of being a world champion, never mind beating some YouTube guy.
“But it’s a great fight for the social media world and for all the kids out there who support them both.
“It’s a great fight to watch, it’s a spectacle.
“But Tommy – his name’s Fury. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, I’ll have to change his name.”
In his most recent fight, Paul outpointed former UFC champion Tyron Woodley at the end of last month, while Fury beat Paul’s friend and sparring partner Anthony Taylor to move to 7-0 on the undercard.
It was already known that US broadcaster Showtime had inked the Brit to a two-fight deal and talks are underway for a showdown between them.
Tommy responded from the background during his older brother’s interview by agreeing, to which Tyson added: “If you can’t beat him, your name’s getting changed.”
The WBC heavyweight champion, though, has bigger things on his mind in the form of Deontay Wilder, who he fights for the third time on Saturday.
The title is on the line and his former trainer, Ben Davison, reminded the world how dangerous he is.
“If he holds his feet, lets his hands go and is willing to punch with Tyson, it is extremely dangerous,” he told talkSPORT.
