NCPC’s Partnership With S’South Governors To Train Youths In Agric & Agribusiness Step In right Direction – CGG

It is certain and a natural law that one cannot place something on nothing. This is the reason the latest approach on youths training and empowerment will impact more effectively as proposed by the tireless efforts of the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam in peace building and South-South leaders.

This is will naturally bring fulfillment to the Governors of South South States because of the far reaching impact of this proposal if taken seriously.

A group under the umbrella of Coalition for Good Governance (CGG) has hailed the thinking of the South-South Governors to work with Rev. Pam to achieve this onerous task of equipping the youths in the sector of the economy that is very critical to the survival of the citizens.

Speaking to NewsTrack Nigeria on phone, the National Coordinator of the Civil Society Group, Mike Ilechukwu described the news as heart warming and satisfying.

He called on the youths of the region who would be lucky to be among the contingent for the training to take it seriously.

“The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam had said that his Commission would partner with the South-South Governors on youths sponsorship on Agricultural Skill Development in the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan. He disclosed this on 14th October, 2021, while receiving delegations of the Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators’ Forum (NDNAF) in his office at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters, Abuja.

“He stressed that the members of the Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators Forum would be part of the beneficiaries of the Agricultural Skill development programme when the Governors buy the idea. According to him, “you will be part of the integral process of the programme aside being part of the beneficiaries”.

“The NCPC Boss further affirmed that their participation in the NCPC Agricultural Skill Development Programme in Israel or Jordan would make them fulfilled on their return to Nigeria and would be able to impact positively on their immediate environment.

“The Peace Ambassador disclosed that the Commission was planning a Peace advocacy programme in the South-South Region which would bring the government and people to dialogue and further bring lasting solution to the issues affecting the Niger Delta. He said that the Commission had appointed a coordinator to plan the programme.

“Rev. Pam said he had concern over the Youths who are easily swayed by emotions and have in their possessions dangerous weapons which usually lead them to violence and destruction of lives and properties. He urged the youths to shun violence and look into better ways of resolving issues.

“Earlier, the President of NDNA the Most Senior Comrade, Wisdom Ikuli, who was represented by the leader of the delegation, Comrade Jonathan Embale, appreciated the Executive Secretary and the Management Staff of the Commission for accepting their solidarity visit to the Commission, according to him; “that is a demonstration of good leader, a reconciliatory per excellence, an advocate of peace and a detribalized Nigerian, and above all a leader in the vineyard of the Lord”.

“He applauded the Executive Secretary for his laudable achievements since his assumption of office. He further acknowledged Rev. Pam’s administrative policies on peace advocacy across the country, his coordinated and well managed system put in place to select intending pilgrims and laying strong foundation in crises ridden areas in parts of the country, as well as opening up new frontiers and sites as pilgrim destinations are novel and capable renewing the spirit of Christian pilgrimage in the country”.

“Mr. Embale stressed that the forum is an embodiment of millions of resourceful, nonviolent, multitalented, productive and outstanding Niger Deltans. He disclosed that the vision of the forum is,” a peaceful Niger Delta without violence and agitation”. According to him,” their mission is to promote peace in the region through advocacy, dialogue, sensitization, and economic empowerment as alternative to violence”.

“He further disclosed that their purpose of visit was to show solidarity and also build synergy in a common cause of peace advocacy, especially in a trying moment of our great country Nigeria and particularly the body of Christ, the church.

“He added that the Niger Delta Nonviolence Agitators Forum (NDNAF) in collaboration and partnership with the South-South traditional rulers council FCT, National orientation agency (NOA), and other ethnic organisations from the region are building synergy and working in solidarity to promoting the common cause of peace building in the region and in Nigeria as a whole.”
