Jon Jones isn’t happy that Israel Adesanya is above him in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Drug bans and police arrests aside, many MMA fans consider Jones the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time and save for a harsh disqualification back in 2009, he has never been beaten.

Jon Jones and Israel Adensaya have been trading shots for over a year now

On the latest pound-for-pound list, Jones finds himself fourth behind middleweight champion Adesanya, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and number one on the list, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

Of course, Jones hasn’t been very active. His last fight was 18 months ago and he has since moved to heavyweight, but is obviously yet to fight.

Still, Bones hasn’t taken too kindly to being below heated rival Adesanya and took the opportunity to take a shot at The Last Stylebender.

“When your ranked over Jon Jones on a pound for pound list but know you can’t defend a takedown” Jones posted with a shrug emoji in obvious reference to Adesanya’s loss to Jan Blachowicz.

Jones didn’t stop there, though. He wants to be taken off the list altogether and believes it’s ‘silly.’

“It’s funny seeing people have the satisfaction of being ranked over me when I’m not even competing. Just take me off that silly list.”

He then responded to a fan that said the ‘game had passed him by’ saying: “Lol I guess so, I guess you can have 1/3 of an MMA game and be considered the real deal these days. This is some new shit right here.”

Jones, 34, has plenty of big matchups waiting for him, but the one he wants the most is against heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Should Jones become a two-weight world champion, it’s fair to say he might be back at the top of that list.

The light-heavyweight great has had plenty of issues outside of the octagon since his last fight including an arrest with reported domestic abuse earlier this month.

Still, If Jones can get back to fighting, there are precious few better and he just might be able to silence some critics.
