1 Samuel 1:6-11; 2:1-5
*MESSAGE*
Today’s topic is a statement of encouragement to someone who has lost hope or someone at the verge of giving up in life. “Just one Day”, someone’s ugly story will change for good! No matter how long a night may last, morning must break forth. The darkest moment of the night is the verge of a new dawn. Your night of trouble will not last forever.
I had an experience when i was 8 years old. As a village boy, i was so glad when my uncle that lived in Kano sent someone to bring me down to the city for a long holidays. I was so exhilarated.
Something phenomenal happened to me; i slept on the eve of the day of travelling and the night became so long that the day refused to break. It sounds hilarious, but its real. I woke up frequently with the curiosity of traveling to Kano: behold, the day had not broken. As i woke up the fifth time, tears burst on my cheeks. I cried profusely; with the conclusion that the day won’t break again. Imagine the foolishness of a child! In my hopelessness, sleep caught up with me. Behold, just at the right time, my grandmother tapped me and said, ‘My son, the day has broken, wake up, shower and get set for the trip to the city.’ Oh my God! I jumped with great joy! The long night could not stop the joy of morning! Hallelujah!
Hannah had believed God for many years, but her hope was dashed when her expectations couldn’t come to reality. Just one day, she had an encounter that changed the ugly situation of her life. If someone had told her that she would give birth to one of the greatest prophets of all times, she wouldn’t have believed it. Just one day, she was called a mother (Mama Samuel). This will be the story of someone reading this now!
