Cancelled IPOB One-Sit-At-Home Order Crippled Movements In South East, Rivers State, Others (PHOTOS)

While the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra may have hearkened to the voice of reason by calling off its already ordered one week Sit-At-Home order, movement within and outside some of South-South States remained crippled.

When NewsTrack Monitored the level of activities in some states, the capital city of Imo State, Owerri unlike in the past was a beehive of activities though at half mast.

Our checks revealed that no inter state movement across the South East State. Imo State Transport Company, ITC, experienced total paralyses as none of the routes in the South East was serviced.

When one of the supervisors was approached, he said there is fear of unknown and that the management decided to halt operations until Sunday.

Other Transport Companies visited were Onitsha South Transport Company also cancelled it’s operations within the South East and other neighbouring States in the South-South.

Rivers Joy Transport Company only plied Port-Harcourt but complained bitterly over almost zero patronage saying they had only successfully loaded one vehicles since morning.

When one of our reporters later joined a vehicle at Control roundabout Owerri to Port-Harcourt, he reported that it took about 1 hour to load a ten seater Sienna Toyota bus.

He complained that except joint security check points along Port-Harcourt express way in Rivers State only scanty vehicles were seen.

The same affected businesses beyond the five South-East States. Complaints of slur in businesses were recorded.

The same scanty motorists were observed the route between Ikhana LGA, Rivers State and Akwa-Ibom boundary.
