Sit-At-Home Order: Activities Gradually Returning To Owerri, As Banks, Big Businesses Remain Shut

With the hindsight of the ghostly nature of Owerri since the Sit-At-Home Order was issues by leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and even after it’s cancellation, it can be said that Owerri is back to life.

Yesterday, while some people still stayed at home, the city experienced more activities as more motorists were seen freely on Major Roads of Owerri.

Meanwhile, most businesses were opened to the public, including supermarkets and some eateries, which was not the same in the past.

Meanwhile, either for the purposes of averting risk of vandalism or criminal elements taking advantage of the situation, most Banks were shut except skeletal services around the Automated Teller Machines, which guarded by internal security personnel.

Dan Anyiam Stadium, which used to be deserted one again witness surge by young athletes who came to play Basket Ball, Volley Ball and some who were there for just fitness exercises.

Recall that the IPOB had long cancelled Sit-At-Home Order but for fear of falling victim to the barrel of trigger happy security personnel, criminal elements, people of the South East have rather chosen to quietly and peacefully stay at home.
