The Egbeda branch of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria in Lagos State has announced its official inauguration, including a fundraising event on Sunday, December 5.

The event, which will be attended by personalities across the country, including leaders of the organisation, will begin by 11 a.m at 2, Adebeshin Close, Off Fajumobi Street, Egbeda-Idimu Road, Egbeda, Lagos.

Alhaji Kazeem Atanda, Chairman of ADS Egbeda branch, explained that apart from providing ease and convenience for Egbeda Muslim faithful, the organisation recognises that Islam can impact young Nigerians by emphasising values designed to instill values, such as self-control and social competence, as well as foster a positive spiritual environment.

” Since inception, the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has recorded remarkable strides in spreading the great message of Islam and promoting the development of students into well-disciplined, balanced individuals – both Muslims and otherwise. But our world is undergoing radical, disruptive changes at an accelerating speed, and many young people are becoming more susceptible to corruption, selfishness, and basic irresponsibility,’’ he said.

For us, we understand the urgency and solution that lies at the constant engagement of young faithfuls and citizens to promote foster brotherhood and living a socially-responsible lifestyle”.

“We intend to roll out a series of activities and opportunities for public engagement, which will be announced during worships and on social media platforms,” said Alhaji Wale Hamzat, Secretary, ADS Egbeda branch. It will definitely contribute to expanding our membership in the Egbeda axis. Still, it is also essential that drive our message of Islam as a religion of peace outside the Egbeda community too”.

Ansar-Ud-Deen, which refers to the ‘helpers of the religion’, is a religious organisation established for the educational development of Muslims and enhancing the moral and social development of the Muslim community in Lagos. Formerly ADS Alimosho branch Division 5, the new branch is strategically placed to serve the Muslim community in Lagos, and other parts of the country.
