Applicants who wrote the NNPC test for the 2019/2020 recruitment exercise for Graduate Trainees and Experienced Hires (EH) have pleaded for the immediate release of the list of successful applicants.

In a terse statement made available to The Nation titled ‘Open letter to His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly’, the applicants appealed to the National Assembly to prevail on the NNPC leadership to release the list of successful ‘Experienced Hires’ candidates for the 2019/2020 recruitment exercise.

The Nation learnt that in March 2019, NNPC advertised for ‘Graduate Trainees’ and ‘Experienced Hires’ under the leadership of late Dr Maikanti Baru.

The statement reads: “We are pained and in serious psychological trauma that we Nigerian Professionals from home and abroad responded to the NNPC advert in March 2019, wrote the NNPC test for the 2019/2020 recruitment exercise for both Graduate Trainees and Experienced Hires (EH) test

“It was transparently conducted under the able leadership of the highly revered late former GMD Dr Maikanti Baru of blessed memory in June 2019 and the successful ones were invited for interview conducted in July 2019 for both the Graduate trainees and Experienced Hires (EH).

“The late GMD couldn’t finish the whole exercise because retirement caught up with him in July 2019.

Several appeals to them via Newspaper publications and Twitter for the closure of this recruitment exercise.”

The applicants, under the ‘Experienced Hires’ category, while demanding fairness, urged the parastatal to release the list of successful candidates for the 400 vacant positions advertised.

“Sirs, we humbly call on you to see us as your fellow Nigerians and for God’s sake, equity, justice and fairness give us what is due to us by using your esteemed offices to make the NNPC Management immediately conclude on this 2019/2020 EH Recruitment with the urgent issuance of meritorious Appointment Letters to the over 400 successful candidates (Nigerians).

“As we speak the Experienced Hires candidates are in distress as a result of this anomaly. Once again we crave your indulgence to please urgently help us to remedy this unfair treatment to some Nigerians by the NNPC management.”

The NNPC could not be reached for comments.
