Uzodimma Receives Hand Over Letter Of Recognition Of Kingsley Mbadiwe University By NUC
The controversy over who the real owner of University in Ogboko may have been rested as Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has formally been handed over a letter of recognition of the Kingsley Mbadiwe University, Ogboko in Imo State by the Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed.
Kingsley Mbadiwe University is now the 42nd state institution in Nigeria and the 143rd university in the country.
The brief handover ceremony took place Wednesday at the NUC office in Abuja where Prof. Rasheed used the opportunity to laud Governor Uzodimma’s doggedness and commitment in the pursuit of quality education for the people Imo State.
Presenting the letter of recognition to Governor Uzodimma, Prof Rasheed said: “With effect from Wednesday 8th December 2021, K.O. Mbadiwe University, Ogboko is formally recognised as the 42nd State University and the 143rd University in the Nigerian University System.”
The Executive Secretary NUC reiterated that Governor Uzodimma has shown much commitment towards the educational development and human capital development of Imo people, noting that Kingsley Mbadiwe University will add to the efforts of government to meet the human capital needs of the State.
In his response, Governor Uzodimma thanked the NUC for facilitating issuance of the letter and promised that government will do everything within her powers to ensure that the university meets the standard set by the Commission such that Kingsley Mbadiwe university will be among the sought after higher institutions in the country.
