Ahiazu Mbaise APC Crack: Former Speaker Allegedly Shuns Uzodimma’s Birthday, Resurrects Ararume’s Political Structure
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State may have begun to have a divided house, especially in the zone he needs one house to help him pull the needed supports and votes for his second term bid.
The former speaker of Imo state house of assembly and All Progressives Congress stalwart, Rt. Hon Noel Agwuocha who was hitherto considered one of his bench men may have chosen another political path.
While Uzodimma was celebrating his birthday on Sunday, Agwuocha reportedly played host to members of destiny organization, a political support group belonging Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume in his country home at Eziama, Oparanadim in Ahaizu mbaise local government area..
The meeting which on the face value does not mean any harm but the move to mobilize Senator Ifeanyi Ararume’s structure to support one of their own, Chief John Nwoko in the mooted forthcoming Local Council election may spark off schism of great magnitude in the party.
Ararume remains an APC stalwart but it is an open secret that he does not in any way work with the incumbent Governor.
Agwuocha may have sent a very critical signal about Ararume’s ambition to wrestle power from Governor Uzodimma.
Meanwhile John Nwoke is known as a ranking members of Ararume’s Destiny organisation.
According to one the Governor Uzodimma’s strong man, Emeruem Uche:, “the former speaker during his speech urged their members to restrict all their contributions to the matter at hand being how to realise the ambition of Chief John Nwoko of becoming the next executive Chairman of Ahiazu which he described as “strategic to destiny organisation ahead of 2023”.
Emeruem also accused the state assistant financial secretary designate of APC in Imo state Mr Anthony Odirichukwu of suggesting that the meeting is incomplete without drawing leadership of the party in Ahiazu into it as the project can’t not be realised by members of destiny organisation alone.
He advised the aspirant to plan for another date and work hard to include other APC members into the project without disclosing the plans and secret of the organisation.
Others who attended the meeting took turns to eulogize the convener for taking the initiative to call them together and for encouraging Chief John Nwoko to run for the position.
APC Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise, Chief Ethelbert Ugwu was not in the meeting, saying he was attending the 63rd birthday celebration Uzodimma at heroes square Owerri and was unaware of such meeting going on in Ahiazu. He promised to investigate the matter thoroughly and provide further feedbacks.
The said tussle which has led to the suspension of his inauguration as the Chairman of NNPC board is yet to be resolved.
Uzodimma’s camp expressed concern because Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume who contested the last gubernatorial elections against Hope uzodinma on the has been on a running battle with the Governor over who controls the machinery of APC in Imo state, a matter that is already generating divide in the party.
Thosewho attended the meeting include Noel Agwuocha, John Nwoko, Anthony odirichukwu, Chris Okechukwu, Kerian Amadi, Ngozi Aririguzo, Lawrence Agulanna among others.
What will happen in the coming days in Imo APC may be unimaginable.
