Full NUC Ranking of Top Universities In Nigeria In 2021

– University of Ibadan (U.I) leaders, followed by Redeemers University, Covenant university

There is no doubt that Nigeria can boast of over 170 universities located in the 36 States of the federation. They are categorised in three major layers – Federal, States and private universities.

It is administratively progressive to review the standing of licensed Universities so as to troubleshoot their challenges and proffer solutions to maintain standards and still keep them competitive.

The recent development has revealed that some of the private Universities have really buckled up and are contributing immensely to the knowledge economy and other strategic areas that will engender development through good teaching and research.

some of the first generation Universities have maintained their leadership while others are struggling. The true rating and ranking are better handled by independent experts who will consider various factors and deploy requisite techniques, which includes their adaptability and compliance to the latest development in technology, teaching techniques with employment of experts in various fields.

Bottom Line 

The list above is the official NUC university ranking for 2021 as published on the NUSrankings website. According to the NUC, this ranking was made from analysis of twelve indicators. From the list, the best University in Nigeria is the University of Ibadan in Oyo state. 

UI got 454.56 points, a difference of 69.6 points from the second best University, Redeemer’s University. Popular Nigerian universities like the University of Lagos came 35th with  116.64 points; UNN came 20th with 178.03 points while Landmark university is 9th with 217.06 points. 

The list reveals that the worst university in Nigeria is the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi State.
