Timaya Charges Youths On Hard Work, Says No One Will Pick Your Call If You’re Broke

Nigerian Superstar Timaya has charged Nigerian youths on hard work, encouraging them to invest their time wisely if they wish to succeed.

The singer and songwriter was among the A-list acts that headlined the 2021 Urban music festival over the weekend at the Eko Energy City in Lagos.

During his performance, Timaya spoke to the crowd.

He said: “Please invest. Don’t be a foolish person o, because if you are broke nobody will pick your call.

“I am begging you, my knees are down, please. Nobody loves anybody, just get your money right and go home.

“When you have your money you can call the shots. Tell yourself ‘I must be focused.’ Say, ‘in this 2022 it shall be right with me’.”

He reminded them of his journey as a plantain seller in his early days and thanked them for the support this far.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for always being my fan.

“But you must promise me something, that thing you believe in, you must always want to achieve it, believe in yourself.

“I was a dirty smelling boy, I dey sell plantain before, but today I am young and rich and if you know say I suffer before put your hands together for yourself,” Timaya said.

Timaya thrilled the audience with his old hits and his latest hit single ‘Cold Outside’ featuring Buju.

The Urban music festival, sponsored by Coca-Cola, Guinness and Smirnoff also witnessed mind-blowing performances from acts such as Wande Coal, Reekado Banks, Omah lay, Blaqbones, Ycee, Buju, Cheque, Ajebo Hustlers, Fave, Dj Tgarbs, Tomé among others.
