*Topic: Be a light*

“ _Be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do. Live so that they will praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 ICB)._

In nature, different plants need each other and work together. Some provide shade, while others help protect the weaker ones from insects or rodents. The flowers on a plant are not only pretty, they are also important for the formation of the plant’s seeds. The flowers attract the bees, who then pollinate the plant. Bees also use the nectar from the flower to make honey. Pollination enables a flower or plant to produce seeds by adding or bringing pollen to different parts of the flower. Each plant is uniquely designed by God and is a part of the wonder of the world around us. Each one has a specific purpose, too, whether to provide nourishment, shelter, healing, or even to add beauty to the world. Each person is special too—uniquely created by God. Nature glorifies God; it is a testimony to His handiwork. Just like plants grow when they are planted in good soil and are well cared for, we too grow in spirit when our hearts are planted in the good soil of God’s Word. We do this by learning from His Word and making it a part of who we are. God fills our lives with goodness. When we live in harmony with Him and with each other, then He can bless our lives. We can work together and help one another. This brings harmony and joy into our lives.
We can be a light to others by allowing our actions to reflect God’s Spirit within us. Our kind deeds can show others an example of Jesus’ goodness and love.

*Song*
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Everywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine.
Everywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine.
Everywhere I go, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

*Prayer*
Thank You for today. May You go before me and lead me. I pray that I would allow Your Holy Spirit to guide me today and that I would be a light to others. May Your light shine through me and may Your love bless those around me. I pray that I would be patient, kind, and considerate. I pray that Your character would flow from me as I put others first. Use me as a vessel for Your glory, Ameñ.
