APC Convention: Madumere Calls For Reconciliation Among Aggrieved Members

The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called for truce in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the party can only do well when there is unity.


The former Deputy Governor made the call in a statement issued by his Adviser on Media & Publicity, Uche Onwuchekwa.


According to the statement, Madumere urges the Aggrieved members to listen to the voice of reason and try to see the bigger picture.

He also asked all and sundry to ensure to listen to the advise of President Muhammadu Buhari, calling on all to make sacrifices so as to avert internal crisis. “President Buhari was right. If we give room for internal crisis, there is no way the party will retain power in 2023.


“The former Deputy Governor therefore calls for understanding and for every party man to be considerate of one another 


“Interest aggregation and harmonisation will be only what may be needed to avert the impending implosion.

“While I commend the effort of Governor Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee for keeping the party together and ensuring it is well administered, I urge them to also to be discrete in decision and find a common ground for there to be peace.


“This stage is very critical to our great party and every step must be well calculated and ordered. It is better to have a little stake in the progressive organisation than lose all for self serving interests.

“He also encouraged those who have approached the court to seek redress, it is better they stand it down while the reconciliation committee move ahead proactively to see how issues can be harmonised.”


“Our party members must learn to eschew the winner takes all attitude because no one man can be greater than the whole party. He warns that the worst and most devasting war is the war fought withing and among family members where everyone knows everyone.”
