Youth Group Wants Imo Government, Stakeholders To Sheath Their Swords

Youths Initiative for Peace, Justice and Reorientation (YIPJAR) have called on the government and stakeholders of Imo state to “sheath their swords and collectively work towards bettering the fortune of Imo state.”

The group made the call owing to the deteriorating security situation in the state which they said is “the consequences of the unending battle in the state among various divides,” stressing that this squabbles “have taken away security, peace, progress and development from the state and imolites suffer the bulk of this urgly situation.”

In a statement issued in Enugu over the weekend by the president of YIPJAR, Engr. Uzor Lawrence after an executive meeting of the organisation, he said that” It has become imperative that the wellbeing and progress of Imolites be given priority over any personal interest and disagreement of few individual(s) if truly, there are core leaders in the state.”

Engr. Uzor said that it is very reprehensible that we still find this kind of situation in some parts of Nigeria despite the level of Education and exposure of the persons involved in various media war in the state and setting a very bad precedence for the younger generation.

Engr. Uzor also reiterates his call for the youths to brace up, work together and contest for various political position as that is the only sure way to eliminate all these kind of colossal leadership failure and pointless tantrums thrown at one another by the supposed respected individuals.

Commenting on the forthcoming Enugu Local government election, YIPJAR called on the governor of Enugu state, Rt Hon. Dr Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi to once again, give the youths opportunity to contest for the chairmanship positions across the state, stressing that these young minds will reintroduce equity, justice and remarkable performance into the Local government system.
