Half Nude Women From Four LGA Protest Insecurity In Ondo

Women from four local government areas of Ondo State on Saturday staged a peaceful protest calling for an end to kidnappings and armed robbery in their communities.

The peaceful protests in Oka Akoko, Akungba Akoko and other Akoko towns followed last month’s kidnapping of some teachers in Auga Akoko.

A police officer was also killed last week at Oka Akoko while 17 travellers were attacked along Ifira Akoko-Isua Akoko road by robbers.

Reports said the protesters chanted solidarity songs along streets in the various towns.

Chairman, Akoko Divisional Traditional Council of the four local governments and monarch of Oka Akoko, Oba Yusuf Adeleye, urged the protesters to remain peaceful.

Oba Adeleye stated that security challenges facing the country and Akokoland would soon become a thing of the past.

He said communal and traditional efforts would be applied as parts of solutions to the problems.

The Oba Akoko monarch also urged various communities in Akokoland to “form vigilante groups.
